And then there were two.

Let me take a moment to indulge my self-centered and somewhat whiny and attention seeking side. We recently brought home the latest member of our little seaside family and this was no easy process.

No walk in the park.

I have tried my best to hold my tongue publicly throughout this nine month ordeal, but in my private life - well my poor husband was not allowed this same luxury. So follows is my rant. If you do not enjoy reading the rants of others, I would suggest you scroll a little further down and simply enjoy the photos of our latest addition. It is up to you.

First off. Our little Love was 6 months old and I was newly diagnosed pregnant. Let the good times roll. At six weeks I made the mistake of telling a co-worker that I hadn't started to feel sick yet, which was my chief complaint the first time around. And then it happened. Boy did it. Off work for two months and sick as a dog.

After a few months my situation had taken a turn for the better until one particular OB appointment when my blood pressure was through the roof. Sigh. So I was put on modified bed rest with three months to go. Not my style, especially with a toddler. This also came with weekly office visits and bi-weekly ultrasounds. That's right, being seen three days a week, quickly becoming bossom buddies with the staff.

Almost forgot to mention the ambulance ride at 35 weeks. The low down (without getting too low or down, if you know what I mean) - sick, sick, sick, blacking out, husband couldn't carry very pregnant wife to car, ambulance called. On the ride over I took a peak at the monitors (being a nurse, I just couldn't help myself) and every time I would throw up my heart rate would drop to the fifties. Thank you extreme vagal response for my severe tunnel vision.

Finally, at 39 weeks, I was time in for a final ultrasound and the numbers aren't stellar. I wasn't allowed to go home. Then a four day attempt at inducing this baby occured, ending with a long car ride home babyless. That's not exactly true - there was a baby in my belly, just not in my arms.

A week later we all took another swing at this induction process and God must have been smiling down at me because my new main man joined us after a relatively laid back day of laboring and only three contractions full of pushing. Yessssss.

Fast Forward

Yup.

We've been a little busy growing another human over here for the last 8 months and should be meeting him face to face sometime in July. More on that later.

In other news, Lovely has continued to grow despite our pleas to stay itty bitty for just a smidgen longer. The proof is in the pudding. Or photo collage.

 Glad I could fast forward you all through the last twelve months of this little lady's life.

~

A couple months ago we celebrated the fact that, as new parents, we were able to keep our kiddo alive one whole year.

Now we are all perfectly aware that a one year old will have absolutely no recollection of her first birthday extravaganza. However, this harsh reality would not nor did not stop us from doing it up right.

{"On her actual birthday" cupcakes}

{And the Big One, on her party day.}

{A Tutu? Sure!}
